Our client is an established family run Nursing Home in Waterford. They provide their residents with both a comfortable and enjoyable home in relaxed surroundings with special emphasis on holistic care. They are now looking to recruit a Director of Nursing to join their team.
This role would suit an ABA registered nurse with extensive experience of caring for the elderly.
As the Director of Nursing, your focus will be on ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our client’s nursing home.
You will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of care is provided for all residents by supervising staff and nursing procedures. You will also be tasked with recruiting and training staff and ensuring staffing levels are correct.
Your other duties will include:
- Completing Health & Safety reviews and making policies
- Liaising with families, residents, staff and management
- Completing internal audits
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Be a ABA registered nurse (An Bord Altranais)
- Have experience in a similar senior nursing position
- Possess extensive experience of caring for the elderly
Additionally, as the Director of Nursing, you must have a patient-centred approach to care of the elderly and good people skills. Sound decision making skills and the ability to promote a team environment are also essential.
