I. GENERAL SUMMARY
Compliance Analysts are responsible for ensuring customers are in compliance with the Compliance Policy as defined in PayPal’s Terms of Use. Compliance Analysts help to ensure that PayPal implements the appropriate controls and monitoring to satisfy its obligations to the regulatory authorities, in particular the CSSF. Compliance Analysts ensure that Anti-Money Laundering regulations are adhered to and monitor account activity accordingly.
Compliance Analyst’s are required to assist the leadership team to monitor and implement procedures that address policy modifications. They work through a number of pre-determined fraud queues to assist in confirming KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements have been completed by customers.
II. SPECIFIC DUTIES
A. Responsible for ensuring customers are in compliance with the Compliance Policy as defined in PayPal’s terms of Use
B. Responsible for ensuring that PayPal implements the appropriate controls and monitoring to satisfy its obligations to the regulatory authorities
C. Responsible for ensuring that Anti Money Laundering regulations are adhered to and monitor account activity accordingly
D. Assist the leadership team to monitor and implement procedures that address policy modification
E. Processing queue items (KYC) in a timely manner
F. Maintain professional interaction with PayPal personnel and customers at all times.
G. Assist management staff with monitoring and implementation of procedures that address policy modifications. Assist with needed modifications/clarifications in policy.
H. Provide feedback to management regarding necessary changes and updates; including policies, upgrades, and potential workflow changes.
I. Maintain and promote a positive attitude while meeting production and quality goals.
J. Display initiative to take on additional responsibilities geared towards professional growth.
K. Perform related duties as assigned.
III. Required Performance
A. Meet or exceed all published standards measured monthly and YTD.
B. Maintain acceptable level of job discretion. Performance is evaluated against the ability to make judgment calls, the ability to make sound decision, a desire to make decisions, displaying a heightened level of accountability, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, confidentiality and professionalism.
C. Maintain acceptable level of teamwork by incorporating a positive attitude, being supportive in words and actions, embodying the core values of PayPal, and communicating appropriately with all levels both within the existing team & anyone outside the direct reporting structure.
D. IV. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education
Leaving Certificate or equivalent work experience preferred.
May have a Bachelors Degree.
B. Experience
An understanding of regulatory compliance issues is essential to this role and decisions made may impact PayPal’s standing with the regulatory authorities.
Compliance Analyst would ideally have previous experience in Pro Serv, and/or Resolutions/ES, and will display a knowledge of activities in all PayPal Operations departments, however it is possible to undertake the role of Compliance Analysts I without previous PayPal experience if the agent has previous Regulatory Compliance experience within another financial institution.
C. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Ability to learn and adapt to new software technologies.
2. Strong working knowledge of PC based internet and software applications
3. Proficiency in external systems and software (The Internet, Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel).
4. Working Knowledge of internal systems & software (Kana, Intranet, Admin Tools, E-service and A.T.T.A.C.K).
5. Ability to communicate effectively via email transmission and phone by utilizing proper grammar.
6. Well developed sense of urgency and follow through.
7. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers and peers.
8. Ability to make a discretionary decision based on research.
9. Fluent in English & Dutch required.
