Title: JBoss Administrator Location: Des Moines, IA Duration: 18 months Position Description: 7+ years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Description: Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modelling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. Application Server Administrator - JBoss *2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.)* Required skills - Solid understanding of the JBoss application platform, with recent experience in an enterprise environment - Proven experience in deployment, configuration and support of JBoss Application Server - Experience with application performance tuning and troubleshooting - Proven experience in administration of RedHat Enterprise Linux 64bit OS - Experience with installing and supporting Apache on Linux, mod_jk - Proven knowledge of UNIX Scripting, file permissions, SAN/NAS technologies, networking - Experience with configuring and deploying clustering and high availability technologies in both RedHat and JBoss - Knowledge of interoperability in heterogeneous environment and system process automation - Ability to perform in a fast paced, dynamic environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be able to communicate well to all levels of management - Ability to successfully interact across multiple levels of an organization Preferred skills - Experience supporting Oracle on Linux - Experience supporting and administering WebLogic and WLI - High availability technologies - Current or recent experience as a J2EE developer - Storage technologies (HDS, Sun) - Database services (Oracle 11g RAC), Symantec NetBackup, LDAP, networking - Knowledge of multiple hardware platforms (HP, Dell, IBM, Sun) - Experience with server virtualization (VMWare), capacity planning Platform and Skill Set Expertise: Analysis Skills: Business Analysis The client prefers that the selected candidate will work on a W2 status.
