Product Configuration Engineer in Antrim

We are currently seeking to recruit a Product Configuration Engineer to join a leading employer at their Co. Antrim facility.
This department is an integral part of the Order-to-Delivery process and is responsible for the Variant Configuration (VC) and Bills of Material (BOM) on the Enterprise Resource Planning System SAP which informs the customer what they can order and to ensure Operations know what is required to build a variety of complex products for the Industry.
Key Responsibilities will include;

Analysis of standard price books and available literature such as engineering drawings and product brochures to determine the optimum structure to configure a finished product. Use of the variant configuration, BOM and classification modules
Actively work with PC&DM internal suppliers to understand their needs and tailor VC and BOM models to provide the best overall models for the business
The ability to perform all configuration and BOM activities competently and to a high quality standard
Take part in all 6 sigma projects, including NPI, to offer knowledge and expert advice, to commit to VC and BOM tasks and to adhere to these tasks while always communication with the team
Work to the control standards as set by the PC&DM control group
Provide support for the solutions team on configurations and BOM's
Provide training and support for junior members of the PC&DM team
Investigate and resolve all issues that are raised through the PC&DM Quality Management System. Work to minimise the number of issued raised for the PC&DM group
Timely planning and completion of assigned tasks

Applicants will be either educated to Degree Level with 1 years relevant experience OR with a degree at least 5 years relevant experience.
Additionally applicants should be able to demonstrate;

Experience of MRP/ERP business systems or data management systems in a working environment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings (mechanical and electrical)
Competent in Excel

It is desirable if you can demonstrate any of the following;

Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
4 years relevant experience in generating equipment industry.
Working knowledge of the SAP system or equivalent ERP system
